From elite sport and community care to planning, safeguarding, construction, and commercial strategy, this board brings the vision and leadership needed to guide Cambrian into its next exciting chapter.
🔹 Club Leadership Appointments
Luke Davies – Chair

Luke is currently Land and Planning Director at Persimmon Homes and brings over a decade of senior experience in development, regeneration, and planning across South Wales. With previous roles at Jehu Group and Newport City Homes, Luke offers strategic thinking and governance that will help Cambrian United grow sustainably and confidently.
Kyle Spiller – Vice Chair

Kyle Spiller LLM MCIArb DipAdj MCIOB BSc (Hons) PGC has extensive experience in the construction industry, a qualified quantity surveyor he evolved into commercial director at a significant SME before embarking into a career in construction law. Kyle, now a qualified Adjudicator, operates a successful consultancy business representing clients in contentious disputes in Adjudication and Arbitration proceedings and also providing specialist non-contentious contract advice.
Kyle brings strong leadership across commercial and operational functions. He provides vital structure and direction as Vice Chair, helping guide Cambrian’s day-to-day and long-term planning.
Gavin Davies – Commercial Director

Gavin serves as Assistant Director at Orbis Education and Care, where he leads residential and educational services for people with complex needs. With a decade of leadership experience, Gavin will now lead the club’s commercial growth, sponsorship development, and partnership strategy.
Kelly Simkiss – Club Secretary & Head of Safeguarding

Kelly brings over 20 years of experience working in schools and is a dedicated safeguarding lead, ensuring Cambrian remains a safe and welcoming environment for all. In her dual role as Secretary, she also manages vital administrative and compliance processes across the club.

Chris Harvey – Board Member

With over 20 years’ experience as a Commercial Insurance Broker, Chris also brings board-level expertise from a £13m turnover business and has served as a trustee of a community sporting charity.
His appointment strengthens our governance and commercial focus.
Antony Coombes – Board Member

Anthony plays a key role in club logistics, operational support, and volunteer coordination. With deep ties to the club and its matchday operations, he is a trusted part of Cambrian’s support network. After being club secretary for 11 years at the club.
Sophie Dando – Board Member

A former Welsh international footballer, Sophie is Head of the Female Pathway of the Women’s Team at Cambrian. She is a passionate advocate for growing the women’s game and driving equal opportunities across the club.
Professionally, she is Product Owner Voice at Legal & General, with a background in project delivery, product development, and team leadership. Sophie brings a unique mix of elite football experience and corporate strategy to the board.
Phil Williams – Club President

Known by many as “Mr Cambrian,” Phill Williams is one of the longest-serving and most influential figures in the club’s history. In addition to his honorary role as Club President, Phill also works as Director of Operations for CVT (Cambrian Village Trust) — the parent organisation of Cambrian United.
His leadership, passion, and deep-rooted connection to the club and its wider community make him an irreplaceable part of the Cambrian family. Phill continues to act as a mentor, supporter, and cultural heart of everything the club stands for.
Gareth Evans – Academy Director

Gareth is the club’s Academy Director and a key figure in youth development at Cambrian United. With a strong background in player development, coaching, and football education, Gareth oversees the entire academy structure — ensuring a clear and competitive pathway for young talent to progress into senior football. His leadership and deep understanding of the club’s philosophy make him an invaluable part of the board.
